WATER SYSTEM NOTICE
Temporary Water Discoloration

The Town of Blanchard is aware of concerns regarding brown or discolored water within portions of the Town’s water distribution system. We understand the concern this may cause and want to assure residents that Town personnel are actively working to address the issue.

The recent lack of rainfall has resulted in little to no fresh water entering the lake. This condition may be contributing to elevated manganese levels, which can result in temporary discoloration of the water.

The Town’s water treatment plant is equipped to remove manganese from the water supply. However, small amounts may occasionally enter the distribution system. Town crews are actively flushing the water system in affected areas to help remove the discoloration as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Residents may continue to experience temporary discoloration while this work is underway. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation as our crews work to address the issue and maintain the quality of the Town’s water system.

The Town of Blanchard will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as additional information becomes available.
